Aeschylus’ Sicily

On FRIDAY, May 16, 2025, 9:00 PM at the Barry Theater-DIPETHE of Patras with free admission, it was co-organized by the Laboratory of Speech and Drama of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Patras, the Municipal Regional Theater of Patras and the scientific student group “Theoreio” of the Department of Theatre Studies.

With the support of the Region of Western Greece

The Stage action is based on the legendary and historically confirmed journeys of Aeschylus to Sicily and its influence on his works.

Excerpts from Agamemnon, the Eumenides and Prometheus Bound are heard on stage, translated by Ioannis Griparis. The entire project is based on the working thesis of British professor John Herington, Aeschylus in Sicily.
