A century of modern Greek life has passed through its rooms.
The Theatre Laboratory of Drama and Speech of the Department of Theatre Studies – University of Patras, in collaboration with the 2nd Golfo Festival 2025, as part of Golfo in Progress II – Research in Theatrical Practice (2025), invites aspiring, emerging, or debut playwrights to submit plays in Greek with the following characteristics:
- Length: Up to 9,000 words.
- Form/Style: Open to creative interpretation.
- Plot: The story may be set in Hotel Helmos. A key eligibility criterion is the presence of a creative dialogue with the tradition of the play Golfo, without strict limitations.
The top three plays will be staged in Patras, Athens, and other cities. Additionally, other notable submissions will be presented as staged readings.
The plays will be directed by graduates or final-year students of the Directing Department of the National Theatre Drama School and performed by Drama School students.

Announcement of Results: July 31, 2025
